At first I have to say I wasn’t enough time to see everything from the beautiful Budapest! I was there over the easter weekend only for two days and Budapest is such a beautiful city!!!! My family and two other families drove by car from Munich to Budapest, our hotel was so far away from the city center, that we had to drive 20 minutes to the city.

The first day we were just walking in the city and enjoyed the beautiful view from the river. In the evening we went to the city center again and the whole city was lit up and it so beautiful and amazing, I cannot describe how much I enjoyed the beautiful view!

Budapest looks like a mix of London and Paris together in my opinion, but the religious buildings have a little Spanish touch. I also heard the thermal baths were built by the Spanish, but I couldn’t make it to visit one.

Budapest has a lot of statues and memorials to look at and I feel like in every corner you can read a little bit of Hungarian history because of the memorials.

The main speciality of Hungarian Food is goulash, when we were walking through the city we passed by a little market where you also could eat local food. So I tried goulash. But not the goulash soup. The shim of the stall where I wanted to buy something to eat was steamed up, so I couldn’t see exactly what was behind the shim, but I was hungry so I just pointed on a red soup and said I wanted to eat this. So I received the goulash in a big holed bread and went to the place where my parents sat and started to eat. At first I thought the brown bean-shaped things in that goulash where beans or mushrooms, so I ate that. When my mother came from another stall back to us she said to me: ” Oh you are eating testicles?” I stopped eating. I didn’t know these were testicles! I have never eaten testicles before, but now I have tried, so lesson is learnt: Never point on food you don’t know.

Besides that experience, I finally made it to eat a corndog! Well the dough is pretty sweet and I think, it is not really my thing. Budapest has a lot of burger restaurants, sushi restaurants and boat restaurants. The last night we spent at the spoon restaurant, you have a beautiful view to the river and the Budapest castle. The food is okay, but the service was great and I felt way too underdressed for that elegant restaurant! We all expected the restaurant would be expensive as sh**, but it was pretty cheap regarding to the atmosphere in the restaurant. What you cannot do is to pay separate in Budapest, every time the waiter said no, when we asked them to get separate bills.

All in all the trip was just too short and I have to go back there again to show you more of Budapest!

I have so many more pictures to share with you, but I don’t want to overload you guys! Follow me on instagram to receive more photos to look at the beauty of Budapest!
