After two weeks of being back in Germany I knew I had to travel soon again so I went to visit my friend from childhood in Dublin.

We haven’t seen each other for more than six months and I was so happy to see her. She has always wanted to go living abroad and she finally did it. I was just staying there over the weekend and I made it to see everything I wanted to see in Dublin.

Dublin is a small city filled with bars and burger restaurants ( you know I love burgers ). The first night when I arrived we went out to have some burgers at Gourmet Burger Kitchen. I had a super long list of what to eat where in Dublin so it was justified to start eating right away when I arrived!

The next day my friend took me to Howth and the weather was just perfect for that trip to the beach! At first I didn’t want to go because I thought I wouldn’t be able to see the important things in Dublin, but the city is so small that we walked everything off the first night already. I am glad that we went to Howth, it has been a while where I had fresh air. After breathing basically smog for 6 months I felt so good to be in nature again. We walked on an island and we were surrounded by clouds and rain for a while and it was just amazing to look at the dark clouds – at the same time we were praying that the clouds wouldn’t come to our island where we were walking.

On my last day I went to the famous library Book Of Kells at the Trinity College before I went to the airport, I thought the library would be bigger but I loved the smell of old books – Am I weird? Trinity College definitely gave me the vibe of being in Hogwarts and since I went there so early, the weather was still grey and moody- it was perfect in my opinion! But I couldn’t take nice photos in the library, I still need to manage my camera or even buy a new one.

I also made it to have a nice breakfast at Queen Of Tarts, this little cafe really deserve its name!

Dublin is definitely worth a visit if you wish to escape from the daily life for a short time. Ireland is exactly how I’ve imagined it!

Unfortunately I didn’t make it to eat in every restaurant and cafe I wanted to go, but I listed all the places I wanted to go here below:

Places I went to eat:

  • Queen Of Tarts ( eat.the.tarts.o.m.g. )
  • The Foam Café
  • The Rolling Donuts ( these donuts are heaven )
  • The Mongolian BBQ ( all you can eat )
  • Gourmet Burger Kitchen
  • The Beer Market

I will write a post on some of them, so make sure you follow me to get those updates!

Places I wanted to go to:

  • Bunsen
  • Temples Bar
  • Sophie’s Rooftop Bar
  • Rick’s Burger
  • Dillingers
  • Angier Danger ( they have sick donuts I couldn’t try! )
  • Elephant & Castle
  • Chameleon ( Dishes with an Indonesian twist )
  • Brick Alley Café
  • Lolly And Cooks
  • Brother Hubbard
  • The Green Hen ( this is expensive tho! )
  • Murphy’s ( Ice cream )

Have you been to Dublin before?
